15th October 2026 By Mark

This month is mainly about our visit back to NI.  I left Cambodia first and Mark joined me two weeks later.

I went to Scotland first and had 4 days with my younger son, his wife and our two grandchildren.  They had just moved house before I arrived, and it was lovely to see it and get a bedroom of my own!!  It is in a beautiful location with nothing but hills around it, great for an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old to play safely.   While I was there, Craig gave me another tattoo, of a beautiful baby elephant which I love, and a piercing done by Sarah of my eyebrow, I love it.      I KNOW !!– but I am going to enjoy the rest of my life doing things I enjoy.

When I went to Northern Ireland, I spend 10 days with my friends Elizabeth and Bobby and then when Mark arrived we moved to our friends George and Carolyn.  They all spoilt us rotten as usual.

Elizabeth and I went for an overnight to Dublin which was really nice, I got a packet of Tayto Cheese and Onion on the train (what has happened to Tayto crisps down in Southern Ireland?) (picture will explain why I am asking).   Later with George and Carolyn we used our Smart Pensioner passes to travel around Belfast on the train – there are advantages of getting older.

Elizabeth and I went to the dress rehearsal of Carmen in the Grand Opera House, it was our first time at an Opera, we dressed up very sparkly –  it was very special to both of us (thanks to Jenny Hart-Brooke for getting us tickets).     We also spent time with friends and family and our church family.

Daycare ran very smoothly while we away Sarak did a great job!

One of our children 2 years old was off from daycare sick with a fever, he was left with his sister to look after him and he went missing.  All the village including daycare staff were out looking for him.  Thankfully he was found at the petrol station (beside a very busy road) on his little broken trike, I think in his head he thought it needed petrol.  We praise God that he was found safe and that God had protected him from going unto the main road.

We are now looking forward to the team from Kilhorne, Annalong arriving 17th October, we pray that they will be encouraged and blessed by the work they will do while with us.

Mark and I want to thank our friends who hosted us, people who came to our talks, AGM and showed an interest in what we do.  Also, to us family and friends who make our trips home so enjoyable.

Thank you and God bless…
