14th October 2025 By Mark

It is amazing how much you plan and wait with excitement for a trip and then in a flash it is over.  I had an amazing time back in NI and Scotland, and I am now back at work and waiting with excitement for the Ballyhenry Team to arrive.

Again, I am not surprised by the quirky things I see whilst driving to work.  This morning someone was directing the traffic with a yard-brush, its good to be back.

In Northern Ireland I had the chance to speak at venues and churches that I had not spoken to before, together with churches I was revisiting with updates.  In all places, I felt so welcome and ate far too much sweet stuff.  Thank you all for your hospitality, generosity and love.  I also thank you for your giving to the children, you would have loved to hear the cheers from the children when I told them that people had donated loads of chocolate just for them.

My friends took me to many fancy and fantastic restaurants, and I ate far too well, I am trying to get the weight off again!   In Scotland I visited my son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.  That is always a special time for me.  Faith sitting at the table said, “my dream has come true Nana, you are here”.  It is extremely hard for me to leave them, but I knew 30 little ones were waiting for me back home.

Daycare ran very smoothly without me due to Sokheng’s wonderful skills and Mark’s babysitting duties so Sokheng could take a day off for training.

Some of our children will be losing their homes soon and are looking for somewhere to live.  Please pray a solution can be found.    We have had quite a run of dengue fever, which we now hope will start to ease as rainy season finishes.

Friday 24th is Quiz Night at Belmont Bowling Club!   Get along if you can, have fun, laughs and help our children.

Lots of activities will be happening while the team are here, day trip for the older children, kids’ clubs, teaching English, food giveaways, praying for families are just some of what they will do.  Please pray that all these activities to go well.

While in Scotland my son Craig did a beautiful tattoo for me and Sarah gave me a nose-piercing (don’t say it I know, old age crisis)!

As soon as I got home, Adam and Mark took me to my favourite place and people “Lone Pine” my friends presented me with a welcome back cake, I was so emotional, and the cake was amazing.

Enough for now, see you next month…

Blessings
Liz and Mark
