Well, my trip is over – the travelling is very tiring but worth it to see everyone and share our work.
I asked most of the congregations to smile for the camera and sent the pictures to the staff to show them how many people are interested in what they do, it was good to be able to show them that people across the world love them and pray for them. Thank you to everyone who came to the different venues, treated me to coffee, lunch or dinner and for giving me lots of love.
My first Sunday back in Northern Ireland was busy as I had three services that day. I managed through the jet-lag to remember to drive on the left, so by Monday it was old hat!
I was staying with my friends, Elizabeth and Bobby who make their home so welcoming even trusting me with a key to the front door. We had many good conversations, laughs and rest. I want to thank them for opening up their home to me again.
In Scotland I had a fantastic time with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. I only had one set of eyes staring at me the first morning at 4am and then this little voice saying, “Nana are you awake”? It is always special to spend time with them. We went for walks, played in the garden and ate lots of food. Also thank you Penninghame church for allowing me to share with you a little more about our work.
My suitcase coming back was heavier than when I went, full of perfume for the staff, chocolate for the children and crafts. The children cheered when they found out I had brought chocolate for them and the staff were so excited to get a bottle of perfume each.
Meanwhile, back at daycare the children were coming down with mumps. Lots of them looking like little chipmunks. One of our staff “Sophal” had surgery to remove a 1.7kg lump from her stomach. She is still recovering at home, and we would ask you to pray for her and the children. We also started another child who is starting to settle, and our youngest baby started to walk while I was away.
My good news is that Sokha (senior staff member) is having a baby girl, due in February. We are all so excited for her – I am baby blanket making again!
Graduation will take place on 18th October; we will then start the new intake after that. Sokheng has done a great job organising the event, I can just sit and watch this time.
In the village we did a food giveaway to 30 of the elderly to celebrate elderly parents day, the Village Chief was part of this event and praised us for organizing this.
I am away now as I have sugar-free jelly to make for the children, (I brought a lot back with me).
We thank God for all our blessings
Until next time. God bless…
