I must start with our volunteer, Valerie.
She has been throwing herself into everything and we are so grateful for her input and knowledge. She has prayed for people within the village, giving away food parcels, playing with our babies, teaching our older children and anything else she can think of to bring God’s love to our village and children. The children and staff love her, and is greatly missed now she has returned to Scotland.
Our children painted hearts to give to their families for valentines’ day, they were proud of themselves even though the paint was everywhere not just on the hearts.
We heard recently that the man that had the stroke a while back has been attending the church in the village, we are so happy to hear this as we gave him a Bible not long ago and we are praying he makes a commitment to Jesus.
Sokha and little Lee Lee are doing well, we are missing Sokha around day care and we look forward to having her back in May.
I wrote last month that I (Liz) will be back in Northern Ireland in September for a few weeks. I already have bookings, so if your church or group want me to come and speak can you contact me asap on email info@eggshellcambodia.com and I’ll get it into the diary.
Also, a reminder for those living in Northern Ireland, in Willowfield Church Hall a Zumbathon is being run to raise funds for us.
Saturday 26th April at 1pm.
There will be lots of guest instructors so get it in your diary, it is going to be epic.
Another date for the diary Ballyhenry Presbyterian Church are holding a Mothers Day and Easter Craft Day.
Saturday 29th March 12 noon -3pm.
Admission £5 adults, children free.
Two of our children have had to move house, their grandfather had to sell the land and home resulting in them moving into a very cramped wooden house with another family. This has upset the children, so we ask for prayer that they will find enough money to rent a house of their own.
This is mango season and there are so many around that it costs less that £5 for 10 kilos, Sokheng’s mum sent a few mangos down to day care, our fridge is now full to bursting with lovely, sweet mangoes.
There has been an outbreak of Chicken Pox in the village, pray for those affected and those who are not that they don’t get them. Mark had them as an adult and thought he was going to die!
I am finishing with something I thought I would NEVER do! Mark and I held a rat. I think in my old age I am becoming more courageous. These rats are huge called ˝Pouch Rats˝ and are trained to seek out land mines. They are so light that they don’t set the mines off but can sniff them out.
God is faithful and true, we see his work within our day care and the village daily, he is changing lives, feeding the poor and comforting those who are sick. We praise him and thank him for all he has done and will do.
Until next time, Blessings …
