Happy Chinese New Year!
Queues to buy a Roast Pig were down the street on Chinese New Year day, we probably lost 2/3rds of the pig population in one day! This is year of the Fire Horse. The city is full of red lanterns, yellow flowers and other decorations, it is very colourful. The dragon dancers are always around too, blessings homes and businesses.

Our children have been learning the story “Jack and the Beanstalk” and have been showing me their crafts which relate to the story, although I think the caterpillar may relate to another story, but I won’t tell them… We are starting two more children as one has left due to problems at home and no one being able to decide whether they can come and pick the child up. One of our 4-year-old boys was looking at my nomination bracelet and spotted my cross, he said in English “Christian”, I was so pleased he knew what the cross was about.
Our babies are learning too, I love to hear them shout Amen after their prayers. One of them a two-year-old boy, said to me as I was going down the stairs, “I love you Yei”, I was very touched even if it was said in two different languages lol.

We have handed out a lot of extra rice lately; people do not come and ask us unless they are struggling as they feel shame at not being able to provide for their family.
At the end of January Franklin Graham was in Cambodia in Siem Reap Province for 3 days. During that time 15,000 people approximately went each evening to the event and thousands came to faith. Sokheng travelled on the bus (6 hours) to be there and took the Night bus back on Sunday evening so she could be in work on Monday morning. She said it was a wonderful time of worshipping Jesus and seeing people coming to faith in Cambodia.

Ben Hamill from our home church family arrived early February to spend some time with us at day care, he has been such blessing, the children love him and I think he may be falling slightly in love with Cambodia and its people. Our friends Carolyn and George arrived late February and we are spending time with them before they head off on the next part of their Asian journey.

We had a few ex-pats help us with food giveaways this month, we are praying God touched them during their visit and that they will find Jesus in the people they met.

We will have a busy end of year as we have two teams coming out October and November. We will have a team from Annalong and a team for our home church Willowfield. We are looking forward to them coming to Cambodia and blessing our children and the village.
God bless until next time.
Liz and Mark
