11th August 2025 By Mark

Not long now until I reach home shores!  A little reminder for you of when I am talking and where:

I am looking forward to sharing and updating our work in Cambodia.  Sokheng and I have been very busy crocheting items to help us raise money they will be available at the breakfast in Annalong on Sat 13th September, do come and check them out.

Many of you may have heard in the news about the fighting along the Thai/Cambodian Border. It has seen many thousands displaced from the border areas, and it is especially difficult for the elderly Khmer, as it brings back many memories of historic events.   Thank you for all your prayers, we, our staff, children and project are safe and well.  I am glad to say that the prayers of many have been answered and a ceasefire is now in place.

We continue to give out food and pray with the families – it is so humbling when you see and talk to people who are so poor yet give you a bag of fish that they could sell to bless your staff for the blessing of food to them.  Another lady we visited grows plants, fruit and vegetables to sell, she insisted we take one of her plants for the office.

The staff went on two days training this month carried out by an Australian Christian Charity REECH.   The staff love these days as it is a way for them learn and get ideas from other day care workers and teachers.  They are dressed up to the nines, as it is a few days out of the village, makeup is done, nails and the best outfit worn.

Bible Study is going strong and they are learning about not stepping away from God when times are hard.

Mark had a birthday on 2nd August, he’s now 65.  He works out and is very fit for his age!!!

Me?   I am definitely feeling the benefit of the infusion I had in Bangkok last month although unfortunately it cannot mend already damaged joints but my quality of life has improved.

The children are in good spirits, a few within the village have dengue fever which can be very serious in young children, so we would ask for your prayers for those who have it.

Anyway, enough for now, I am looking forward to seeing you soon, I dreamt a few nights ago that I was eating a big currant square, that will become a reality soon.

Pray for Mark and Adam as they deal with me being away, they will probably eat out every night and not miss me at all.  Oh well, doyakenia (same, same), I will be too busy catching up with all of you!

Blessings.
