I am starting with the good news and am delighted to announce that our new Khmer Director is Dong Sarak, Sarak is his first name. We interviewed four very good candidates, but he was above all the best fit for our day care. Mark and I have known Sarak for 13 years and he brings a lot of experience in being a pastor as well as hands on work in outreach. He has a wife Sophea (who Liz first met in 2011), two sons Jonny and Harry and a daughter Rachel. I know you will pray for him and his family as he settles into his new role.

To announce to the staff, I put a picture of him on his chair as my Khmer was not good enough to tell the staff so they could understand.

I was in Bangkok recently having my infusion for Rheumatoid Arthritis which went smoothly, I was even able to go and eat Mexican food in the restaurant that evening. We went to a mall which had a full park on the top of the building, complete with trees, waterfalls and wonderful views over Bangkok.

Our children, especially the younger ones are coming down sick as rainy season is upon us and they are getting wet, fevers, colds mostly. Again, we would ask for prayers for them and their families. We continue to provide rice and cooking ingredients monthly so this helps.
While doing the latest food distribution, I did the first house and on the way to the second the car packed in! The food was put into a tuc tuc and our cook delivered the rest while I waited for the mechanics to arrive. One lady who we give food to sat down with me and waited, trying to convince me to take her child into day care. When the mechanics arrived she told me to stand under the tree and she would watch them – she had her head under the bonnet telling them what to do, she doesn’t even own a bicycle! Anyway, next she came over and said Yei (grandma) pray over the car (I love her faith). It had to go into the garage, it is 27 years old after all; like me it’s getting old!

When the car was ready to come back to me, they said 2.30pm, 3.30pm came and went no car, I told the staff to go home, none of them would leave until my car arrived. 4.15 I got the car. I bought the staff Gravy Rings the next day for staying with me, they were very happy!
For Father’s Day, Adam booked us a weekend in our favourite Phnom Pehn hotel, the staff love to get selfies with Grandma!

Lastly, our younger son, his wife and our two grandchildren arrive for two weeks on 4thJuly, we are so looking forward to spending time with them, our grandson is calling me every day counting down the days.

Enjoy the sun you are having right now, God’s blessings to us all.
Love Liz and Mark
