29th May 2026 By Mark

So, this month I have been starting to prepare my presentation for coming back to NI.  I will be doing a few talks before Mark arrives so in essence, I have two talks to prepare as Mark will have his input too.

We did a food giveaway to 20 families mid-May and one lady who had a baby girl just four days old, just keep saying thank you teacher for the food, I explained it is Jesus who is providing.  We also had a blessing are day care, so much milk it will take months for the children to get through it.  Some of it was Soy Milk which we gave out to the older generation in the village to build them up.  We also got 3 boxes of coffee, so our Bible Study Group were given a packet of coffee each, they were so happy.

In the evenings I tend to crochet and have just finished a hat for my granddaughter, our family are coming out early July so the hat is to keep her head from burning when out in the sun.  When my friend Sinnet saw it, she wanted one, so another was made for her, I could make a fortune if I started to charge lol.

Of course, Nana must have one too!

Mango season is almost over, so everywhere you go people are giving you bags of mangoes.  In two days I was given 15 mangoes, and Adam went to get his hair cut and came back with another 7!   Now is passion fruit, yellow and red, lots and lots of them.  I like to put them on my cereal, so they are being used.

Yesterday I was resting during my break, and the noise of hammering was so loud outside, one of the houses was being knocked down.  The grandma was sitting with her bed propped up behind her, I was told they are going to live with the children.  The bed seemed to be most of their belongings, I pray that this move will work well for them.

The children are good thankfully not much sickness, but as usual rainy season has started so this will change as they get wet and homes flooded.

I was floored recently with Bronchitis and as soon as I improved, Mark had a day of being sick at both ends. praise God all ok now.

This story will not have pictures for obvious reasons.  Due to having Rheumatoid Arthritis, my hands don’t work so well, so I decided to buy a new bra which is magnetic and closes at the front.  It works well except when its washed, the magnets stick to the top of the drum in the washing machine, to the front of the washing machine when you do eventually get it out and on the washing line frame which is medal!  It’s a bit of a trial to get it to the point of not sticking to everything around it.   (Mark: I was tempted to add a photo, but decide discretion is the better part of valor!)

The toddlers have decided to bring me my outdoor shoes when I am about to head home, they argue about who is going to get them, they take off my indoor shoes and put on my outdoor ones, I promise this is not exploitation, they want to help their grandma.  These children are such a blessing from God, they brighten up my days when life is hard and make me smile when they are worshiping God and saying their prayers.  They pray every day to Jesus for those who provide the money to feed them, for grandma and for the cook who makes their food.

I mentioned in the last newsletter that Sokheng went to America to be with Philip. They had a traditional wedding in Cambodia and a western wedding in America. She looked stunning. We wish them every good blessing on this next stage of the lives together.

Mark and I pray every day for them, for protection, for enough food in their homes and for those families who do not know Jesus, to accept him.

Anyway, that is all this month, we are hoping to announce our new Director in the next newsletter so you are begun to pray for Jesus to bless this person and in turn that they will bless the children and families in our care and within the village.

Cheers and God bless… 🙏
