We are all in a time of uncertainty, trying to ascertain the best thing to do for yourself, family, friends and everyone around us during this global pandemic. We must hold on to the hope we have in God that he is in control, he is our strength and shield. We are praying for all of you that you will keep well and that this pandemic will pass quickly.
Here in Cambodia the Khmer people are now becoming aware of what is happening and like the rest of the World they are worried about what lies ahead. Our borders are closing, and flights are being cancelled. Many people have left the country and gone back home but we feel that God wants us to stay and stand with our staff, children and the Khmer people at this time, showing them that when we live in His love, we have nothing to fear.
Our Day care is closed as are all schools, universities and factories by Government decree. People will find it hard to provide for their families and for those who already live in extreme poverty, daily living will be an even bigger struggle. We would love you to remember them in your prayers.
We are really missing the children but doing what we can to help their families. We are arranging to give them food parcels which will help ease their burden a little – a $20 food parcel helps for around four to six weeks. The staff are carrying out a deep-clean of day care this week and are keeping in touch and encouraging each other through social media.
We will be praying for all. We know that people are praying us and our family back home – thank you again for your support to us.
We will leave you with some words from a Matt Redman song that is playing in our home a lot at the moment. “In the Name of Jesus, all fear must go now, in the Name of Jesus perfect peace, in the Name of Jesus burdens be lifted, no other name has the power to save”.
Be safe, be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10)
