We arrived at a slum in Phnom Penh at 9am and met the team who are amazing doing work for God. They describe themselves as a team of ordinary individuals who are empowered by a Great God to see captives set free, justice prevail and broken hearts restored. They are doing brilliant work.
We spent the day with them and three of their children’s clubs/groups, singing, playing games and telling bible stories. The first in Slum area and the other two in the sex tourist district were the children are the most vulnerable and at risk.
At the second session Liz told the story of Adam & Eve, she explained that they would always have a friend in Jesus and asked would any of the children like to ask Jesus into their hearts, 2 children put their hands up.
At the last session we danced, sang and told bible stories in the rain with children who lived on the streets. It was so heart-breaking though as they are so vulnerable. We brought small toys but we’re going to buy clothes and food for these children and give them to the team who work with these children.
Today was a tough day and we came back with heavy hearts as there is so much need. When I came back to my room I opened a journal my daughter bought me for coming to Cambodia and inside was a bookmark that said today I chose joy & as I was reminded that someday there will be no more suffering and no more tears as God is Good and the victory is his 😊
God bless, Diana…
